Het worden van een inclusieve organisatie of instelling is uitdagend. In deze lezing krijg je een lens waarmee je naar je eigen kunt kijken. De inzichten helpen bij het achterhalen welke obstakels in jouw organisatie in de weg staan van het worden van een inclusievere omgeving. De lezing is opgebouwd rond drie kernconcepten:

(H)erkenning
Representatie
Redistributie

In de lezing worden voorbeelden gebruikt om je een beter begrip van elk concept te geven. De lezing is vooral gericht op educatieve instellingen, maar kan worden vertaald naar alle soorten organisaties.

Kanttekening: Er valt veel te zeggen over de terminologie rond Diversiteit en Inclusie (D&I). Drakenfruit beschouwt inclusie alleen als dat, wanneer het sociaal rechtvaardig is. Het doel is 'liberation', niet assimilatie.

Becoming an inclusive organisation or institution is challenging. In this lecture you will gain a framework or lense for looking at your organisation. This should help you figure which obstacles are standing in your organisations' way of being inclusive. The lecture is built around three core concepts:

Recognition
Representation
Redistribution

In the lecture examples are used to give you a better understanding of each concept. The lecture is mostly focused on educational settings, but can be transfered to all types of organisations.

Sidenote: There is much to be said about the terminology surrounding Diversity and Inclusion (D&I). Drakenfruit considers inclusion only as such, when it is socially just. The objective is liberation, not assimilation.
